This
project involved the transformation of a large open rear yard into
a formal pool/spa combination. The owner wanted an open, clearly
defined, yet private area that would appear to be an extension of
the existing house. Although there was a considerable amount of
soil being relocated, most of it remained on the site. The plans
were developed using the existing grades to benefit the desired
effect and a great deal of attention was paid to how much cut and
fill would be required to achieve the desired results at the minimum
price. The rock contractor installed the rock walkways and the new
fence to the same style as the existing work resulting in a seamless
integration of the house and the yard. All mechanical equipment
was hidden behind a sunken area behind low rock walls, suppressing
the noise and the visual disturbance of the equipment yet remaining
easily accessibly.
